Job Title: Commissioning Engineering Technician
Job Description
As a Commissioning Engineering Technician, you will work both individually and collaboratively within teams to support capital projects and implement solutions. Your role will be pivotal in helping clients make critical changes to enhance performance and achieve their most significant goals. You will coordinate schedules, manage commissioning constraints, integrate construction schedules, and provide comprehensive reports and updates.
Responsibilities
+ Coordinate operations technicians' work schedules and manpower forecasts.
+ Manage and track commissioning constraints and deficiencies related to schedule or quality of Basebuild utility systems post-construction.
+ Integrate construction and design schedules with commissioning activities.
+ Provide reports and updates on schedule and quality metrics.
+ Conduct system and facility engineering assessments.
+ Troubleshoot and perform root cause failure analysis on assigned projects.
+ Train suppliers in commissioning software systems.
+ Provide and manage supplier access to commissioning software systems.
+ Interface smoothly with engineering design team members and client representatives.
Essential Skills
+ 2+ years of experience in commissioning or construction for I&C or Electrical Basebuild systems in the Advanced Technology sector.
+ Experience with Rockwell Automation, PLC5, and Control Logix hardware and software.
+ Experience with multi-discipline large capital projects involving Owners, General Contractors, Contractors, and System Integrators.
+ Understanding of Design/Build (Engineering and Construction).
+ Understanding of complex process systems architecture and design, Instrumentation, Device Selection, Networking, PLC & I/O architectures, P&IDs, data sheets, and SCADA.
+ Working knowledge of environments common in large industrial applications such as Dry/Wet Mechanical, AWN, Gas/Chem Distribution, HVAC, and Clean Room environmental control.
+ Proficiency in control systems programming and configuration.
+ Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, and building automation systems.
+ Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
+ Experience conducting I/O checkouts.
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience working with control systems in a data center or similar environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical engineering, or similar technical field preferred.
+ Associate's degree or technical certification in electrical, mechanical, or control systems engineering or a related field. Direct experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
+ Familiarity with various control system platforms; BMS (Building Management Systems) or SCADA is a plus.
+ Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
+ Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
+ Attention to detail and a proactive approach to work.
Work Environment
The role is based onsite in Reno, with a work schedule of 50 hours per week. Per diem is included for onsite work.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $36.00/hr.
