Job Description
As the Quality Assurance Manager of a world-leading manufacturer of foodservice equipment known for its innovation and commitment to quality, you will be responsible for all quality-related standard operating procedures, internal and external audits in adherence with internal and regulatory standards. The function of the Quality Assurance Manager is to promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
+ Manage the quality assurance department, directing the work of quality technicians and any other personnel, to satisfy the quality requirements for current business and future improvements.
+ Develop and execute annual quality goals and objectives that align with overall company goals and long-term strategic concerns.
+ Setup and maintain ISO 9001 certification and adhere to the quality system.
+ Educate and train employees on their impact in the quality management system, including quality matters, protocol, and procedures.
+ Actively direct the corrective actions system for customer complaints, warranties, returns, and internal processes.
+ Work with all departments to develop documentation of processes and procedures.
+ Lead the development of quality and improvement plans that will impact the overall cost of products.
+ Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits, finding reports, and determining proper corrective and preventive actions.
+ Prepare the organization for audits and certifications.
+ Assist the management team and provide support as necessary.
+ Nurture a philosophy of a quality culture.
+ Follow and comply with all environmental, safety, and work rules and regulations.
+ Evaluate, redesign as needed, and implement organizational systems.
+ Provide quality-based direction to production staff in all facets of operations to ensure quality and, where applicable, ensure the safe, efficient, and effective operations of the facility.
+ Develop positive relationships and effective lines of communication with suppliers.
+ Manage the Supplier Quality metrics, including Non-Conformance Tracking (MRB), Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR), and Corrective Action and Preventive Action.
+ Work closely with the Purchasing Group to establish and maintain a Supplier Quality Scorecard.
+ Participate in new product introduction or product change projects, assuring that all requisite quality characteristics and requirements are met.
Essential Skills
+ At least 7-10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing-based business.
+ Specific experience and training in quality assurance and control shop inspection practices required.
+ Demonstrated experience working with contract manufacturers, suppliers, or distributors.
+ Experience in ISO 9001 Quality systems, including systems auditing.
+ Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
+ Knowledge of quality methods, tools, and instruments such as 5 Why analysis and Ishikawa Diagram.
+ Demonstrated leadership skills and communication skills with all levels of employees.
+ Extensive knowledge of Quality Management systems and planning techniques.
+ Experience in developing and implementing training for inspection, quality system, and Total Quality Management methods.
+ Functional knowledge of statistical concepts as applied to the field of Quality Control.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Quality or an Engineering Discipline, Master's preferred.
+ Strong experience in quality systems is preferred.
+ Quality experience at a foodservice equipment manufacturing company is preferred.
Work Environment
Onsite, office-based position requiring meetings and collaboration on the factory floor.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $58.00/hr.
