    Job Title: Controls TechnicianJob Description

     

    The Controls Technician will support client service calls, troubleshooting and fixing equipment issues onsite. Additionally, the role involves contributing to automation projects, including PLC programming, HMI programming, SCADA programming, DCS programming, network configuration, AC & DC drive setup and configuration, instrumentation, electrical design, and commissioning/startup support services. The technician will not perform PLC programming from scratch. The position requires travel to customer sites within a two-hour radius from Monroe, WI. When not traveling, the technician will support time and material projects or assist other personnel in the division. Depending on the client location, the technician may start their day at the shop or head directly to the jobsite.

    Responsibilities

    + Support client service calls, troubleshoot, and fix equipment issues onsite.

    + Contribute to automation projects, including PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DCS programming.

    + Perform network configuration, AC & DC drive setup and configuration.

    + Assist with instrumentation, electrical design, and commissioning/startup support services.

    + Travel to customer sites within a two-hour radius from Monroe, WI.

    + Support time and material projects when not traveling.

    + Assist other personnel in the division as needed.

    Essential Skills

    + Troubleshooting expertise.

    + PLC programming experience.

    + Automation skills.

    + PLC troubleshooting knowledge.

    + Programming proficiency.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Associate's degree in mechatronics or engineering, with a preference for a Bachelor's degree.

    + 2+ years of experience in automation troubleshooting.

    + 2+ years of PLC programming experience.

    + 2+ years of customer interaction experience.

    Work Environment

    The technician will receive a company vehicle and must have a clean driving record. It is rare to stay overnight at customer sites, but it may occasionally be required. The technician must remain at the customer site until the job is completed. The average workweek is 40 hours, with potential overtime if customer issues are not resolved promptly. After-hours calls may occur, and additional compensation is provided for overtime work.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $60.10/hr.
