    Job Title: Construction Materials TechnicianJob Description

     

    We are seeking both entry-level and mid-level construction materials technicians to conduct testing of concrete for slump, density, and moisture in a laboratory setting. The role involves in-house training by experienced employees. You will communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, contractor representatives, and others regarding construction site activities, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection results.

    Responsibilities

    + Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.

    + Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in the form of written and digital reports daily to the Project Manager.

    + Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.

    + Assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites.

    + Adhere to strict safety standards.

    + Provide clear documentation of findings and results.

    + Progressively take on increased roles in training and responsibility in work assignments.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in concrete testing, materials testing, construction materials testing, and soil testing.

    + Proficiency with ACI certifications, nuclear gauge, and quality control practices.

    + Strong communication skills.

    + Strong computer skills for logging daily field reports and sending emails.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Certifications such as ACI level are a plus.

    + Previous construction materials testing experience is advantageous.

    + Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in civil engineering, geology, geoscience, or a related field is preferred.

    Work Environment

    The role is on-site and full-time, with shifts ranging from 8 to 12 hours a day, although hours may be affected by weather conditions. Benefits include a company vehicle, cell phone allowance, and a company laptop. The position offers hands-on training for entry-level civil, geotechnical, and environmental roles, with paid certifications and additional training. It is an employee-owned firm, offering profit sharing opportunities in the future.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
