Job Title: Software Project Manager
Job Description
As a Software Project Manager, you will lead customer-facing software implementations and manage the software development lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment. You will collaborate with customers to ensure project alignment with standards and capabilities, translating requirements into development tasks, and identifying areas for customization.
Responsibilities
+ Serve as the primary technical and project lead for customer-facing software implementations.
+ Plan and manage the end-to-end software development lifecycle for assigned projects.
+ Collaborate with customers to understand project requirements and ensure alignment with company standards.
+ Translate customer requirements into actionable development tasks, leveraging existing software where possible.
+ Lead and mentor a team of software developers, fostering collaboration and high performance.
+ Assign and monitor tasks, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
+ Provide guidance and troubleshooting support to the team, resolving technical and project-related challenges.
+ Travel to site to support software project engineers if required.
+ Provide guidance on functionality and design to both the project team and the development team.
+ Review and approve design specifications, code, and test plans to ensure quality and consistency.
+ Ensure integration of the software with ERP, warehouse management systems (WMS), and other customer systems.
+ Identify opportunities to optimize processes, reduce development effort, and increase the reuse of standard software components.
+ Act as the primary point of contact for the customer regarding software project progress, issues, and updates.
+ Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless project execution.
+ Report project status, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership.
+ Contribute to the improvement of internal processes, tools, and standards for customer software projects.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field preferred.
+ 5+ years of experience in software development, with 2+ years in a leadership or project management role.
+ Existing expertise or willingness and ability to learn warehouse workflows and integrations.
+ Experience with primary backend development in C# and SQL.
+ Experience with software integration, APIs, and communication protocols.
+ Familiarity with version control systems such as SVN and Git.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in other object-oriented languages such as C++, Java, and DevOps.
+ Strong leadership and team management skills.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach.
+ Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
+ Understanding of agile/scrum methodologies and ability to implement them.
Work Environment
This role is primarily office-based with occasional travel to customer sites for meetings, installations, and support. You will work in a collaborative team environment with cross-departmental interaction.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $72.00/hr.
