    Central Louisiana State Hospital,located inPineville, Louisiana,is seeking applicants for a vacant position in our Nursing Department as aBeautician 2 WAE(part-time) who coordinates the operation of a beauty shop and performs a variety of skilled grooming tasks.

     

    TheBeautician 2plays a vital role for the Louisiana Department of Health in the Behavioral Health community by utilizing CLSH’s values and mission to deliver quality and effective care to our patients. The hospital is highly committed to cooperative work with other state agencies and with the state and regional mental health programs to ensure the integration and coordination of hospital-community services into a comprehensive system of mental health care.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice cosmetology plus six months experience as a licensed cosmetologist.

    Job Duties and Other Information

    Job Duties:

    + Coordinates and participates in the operation of the beauty shop; provides for the grooming needs of male and female patients, cutting and shampooing hair, giving scalp and hair treatments, permanents, manicures and other beauty treatments. May be required to provide services on units for patients unable to travel to the beauty shop. Instructs patients in elementary grooming care.

    + Requisitions supplies and materials as needed in the operation of the beauty shop; maintains the beauty shop and equipment in a sanitary condition and sterilizes equipment after use; maintains an accurate count of services provided for clients for reporting purposes. May supervise clients/residents or volunteers in the activities of a beauty shop. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for providing barber/beautician services to clientele within Central Louisiana State Hospital (CLSH) on a reoccurring monthly basis.

    Position-Specific Details:

    Appointment Type: WAE (Part-Time)

     

    Compensation: Pay is $12.25 up to $22.05 hourly, depending on experience.
