    Job Title: Bander Operator

    Job Description

    The Edge Bander Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the edge banding machine to ensure the precise and efficient application of edge banding materials to various wood-based products.

    Responsibilities

    + Set up and operate the edge banding machine according to specifications.

    + Load veneer strips and adjust machine settings such as glue temperature, heat, and speed.

    + Feed panels through the machine and monitor the banding process.

    + Trim, sand, and inspect finished edges for quality.

    + Maintain equipment and follow safety rules.

    + Troubleshoot issues and work efficiently.

    + Communicate effectively with the team and adapt to materials.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in operating and adjusting edge banding machines.

    + Ability to measure accurately and inspect quality using calipers and tape measurer.

    + Experience with CNC, router, lathe, and blueprint reading.

    + Familiarity with machine operation and wood finishing techniques.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience as a Wood Finishing Technician or Wood Panel Edging Technician.

    + Knowledge of hot mill glue and straight bander operations.

    Work Environment

     

    Work a 1st shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with a 1-hour lunch break. Currently working Friday and Saturday overtime, totaling 60-65 hours a week. The environment is very clean, not temperature-controlled but not extremely hot or cold. Casual attire such as shorts and a t-shirt is acceptable.

    This is a Contract position based out of Powder Springs, Georgia.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
