    Job Title: Controls Technician - Night

    Job Description

    As a Controls Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting production and ensuring equipment remains operational. You will be responsible for programming and editing PLC programs, working with cameras, sensors, vision systems, and end-of-arm tooling such as pick and place. Experience with ABB and Fanuc robotics is highly desirable, and a background in plastics is ideal. You will automate production equipment related to plastic injection and blow molding machinery, requiring you to connect with machines via computer to troubleshoot or make necessary edits.

    Responsibilities

    + Support production by keeping equipment running efficiently.

    + Program and edit PLC programs using the person and Omron systems.

    + Work with cameras, sensors, vision systems, and end-of-arm tooling.

    + Provide robotic troubleshooting, particularly with ABB and Fanuc systems.

    + Automate production equipment for plastic injection and blow molding machinery.

    + Troubleshoot and make edits to machine programs by connecting via computer.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in PLC programming, editing, and troubleshooting.

    + Experience with HMI systems.

    + Familiarity with vision systems, including cameras, sensors, and lasers.

    + Robotic troubleshooting skills, particularly with ABB and Fanuc systems.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Background in plastics, especially in automation of production equipment.

    + Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and schematic understanding.

    + Knowledge in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.

    + Capability to work with automation and robotics systems.

    Work Environment

     

    This position operates on a night shift from 6 PM to 6 AM, following a rotating schedule of 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, and 3 days off, including every other weekend. The work setting is a plastic injection and blow molding facility that produces automotive parts, housing 54 machines. The environment is fast-paced, focused on producing high-quality parts for leading automotive brands.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $81120.00/yr.
