Job Title: Workshop Manager – Airport Ground Support Equipment

Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on leader to manage a team of eight GSE diesel technicians at San Francisco International Airport. This role combines technical oversight with team leadership, focusing on operational efficiency, safety, and service quality.

Responsibilities

+ Lead and mentor a team of GSE mechanics to ensure optimal performance.

+ Oversee maintenance schedules, inventory, and workflow to maintain efficiency.

+ Develop and implement technician training programs and promote safety best practices.

+ Coordinate with airport departments and service partners to streamline operations.

+ Manage work orders, invoicing, and time tracking to ensure accurate records.

+ Drive process improvements and technical upgrades to enhance service delivery.

+ Respond to urgent operational needs in a dynamic, seven-day environment.

Essential Skills

+ Supervision and management skills, particularly in diesel engine maintenance.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and adaptability to changing environments.

+ Strong background in diesel or mechanical systems, with a preference for GSE experience.

+ Comfortable balancing hands-on support with management duties.

+ Effective communication and team motivation abilities.

+ Fluency in English and familiarity with ground service equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ No prior airport experience required.

Work Environment

The role offers flexible hours from Monday to Friday, approximately 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with additional on-call hours as needed for operational emergencies. Work takes place at San Francisco International Airport, with all necessary personal protective equipment provided.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of South San Francisco, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
