Business and Criminal Justice

Full Time Probationary

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice or closely related discipline from an accredited college or university. Must have daytime availability to teach on-campus sections, previous experience teaching Criminal Justice courses and/or a desire to engage in distance learning initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications: Post-secondary teaching experience preferred. Experience with online delivery systems such as Brightspace highly desirable.

Classes will be on the HVCC Troy, NY campus. Instructor will teach a variety of criminal justice courses offered at the college.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide classroom instruction in the Business and Criminal Justice Department.

• Teach a variety of Criminal Justice courses – Introduction to Criminal Justice, Introduction to Criminal Law, Principal of Criminal Investigation, Policing, Criminology, Introduction to Evidence, Introduction to Juvenile Delinquency, Criminal Justice Administration, Correctional Services.

• Evaluate student performance.

• Participation on departmental, division-wide, and college-wide committees for the purpose of building community and fulfilling aspirations of professional development is encouraged.

• At the direction of the Department Chairperson, faculty shall perform duties as specified in the faculty contract.

The Salary for this academic year position is $52,500.00.
