Microsoft Intune is a comprehensive endpoint management solution that provides IT organizations with a cloud-based platform to manage and secure their devices, applications, and data. We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to build cloud services that operate at high scale and availability, with opportunities for technical leadership, and is passionate about exploring application of AI in our everyday work, advocating for its use as a multiplier across teams, and identifying and driving continuous productivity improvements. As a senior member of our team, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of highly scalable and reliable software components, drive technical strategy, and mentor junior engineers.
Responsibilities
+ **Technical Leadership:**
+ Lead technical design and architecture discussions
+ Drive technical roadmap and vision, aligning with Intune's overall strategy
+ Collaborate with product management to define and prioritize project backlogs
+ **Software Development:**
+ Design, develop, and deploy distributed systems software components, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance
+ Write high-quality, maintainable code, and review contributions from junior engineers
+ **Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing:**
+ Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and oversight on complex projects
+ Develop and maintain technical documentation, ensuring knowledge sharing and best practices
+ **Innovation and R&D:**
+ Explore emerging technologies and trends, assessing their impact on our distributed systems and services
+ Drive proof-of-concept projects, demonstrating innovative solutions and technical expertise
+ **Collaboration and Communication:**
+ Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and operations
+ Communicate technical vision and roadmap to stakeholders, both technical and non-technical

Required/Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ yearstechnical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ In-depth knowledge of distributed systems design principles, scalability patterns, and high-availability architectures.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
+ Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
+ OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ At least 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on distributed systems, high-scale engineering, and cloud computing
+ Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
+ Excellent problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to debugging and performance optimization
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
