    QUALIFICATIONS:

    + College student with a minimum of 60 hours and 2.8 G.P.A.

    + Strong Math and English background, evidenced by college transcript

    + Bachelors or Associate degree (Preferred)

     

    REPORTS TO: AVID District Director/AVID Site Coordinator

     

    JOB GOAL: To aid and support student s and the District by providing tutoring services to AVID elective students.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Determine, from student notes and discussions, the concepts that need to be reviewed.

    + Evaluate student binders, including calendars, class and textbook notes, etc.

    + Assist students in any subject area where help is needed.

    + Assist in teaching study skills and other skills needed for college preparation.

    + Conduct tutorial sessions in all areas of mathematics.

    + Conduct mini-lessons in the process of writing in all subject areas, study skills and other aspects of college preparation.

    + Set an example of personal excellence and high expectations for AVID students to follow.

    + Work with students in any phase of the writing process, such as brainstorming, clustering, revision and editing.

    + Communicate frequently and honestly with the AVID Site Coordinator/teacher regarding student progress and areas of concern.

    + Must attend six (6) hours of AVID training

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    Salary Range: $15.00/hour or $20.00/hour for those who hold a current AR teaching license

     

    Length: Part-time, as needed

    EVALUATION:

    Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Pulaski County Special School District's Board policy.
