Job Description
The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of State-Operated Specialty Care, Bureau of Woodward Resource Center (WRC) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Human Services Quality Assurance Coordinator (HSQAC) to join our team. What You'll Do
As an HSQAC, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our team is equipped with the knowledge and skills to deliver exceptional care and support. Your responsibilities will include:
+ Team Collaboration: In collaboration with the Superintendent, develop plans to train, encourage, and support the Management Team/Department Heads to evaluate a broad range of quality improvement/assurance projects and monitor facility-wide participation and compliance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.
+ Develop, Train, and Monitor: Work with management team/department heads in developing, implementing, tracking, and monitoring facility quality improvement initiatives to assure quality assurance compliance with regulations and standards.
+ Lead:Serve as chair of the facility Policy and Procedure Committee which reviews facility policies and procedures to ensure that they are current to within one year and are consistent with the Code of Iowa, ICF/IID guidelines, and HHS policy. Serve as chair of the facility Restraint Reduction Committee to review and analyze facility restraint data monthly, ensure compliance with policy and established standard of care, and make recommendations regarding opportunities for improvement, sharing these with supervisors.
Key Competencies
Successful candidates for this position will demonstrate the following competencies:
+ Knowledge: Understand quality assurance compliance with regulations and standards identified in reviews by the Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing, Life Safety Inspections, and Iowa Medicaid Enterprise Level of Care reviews.
+ Assessment and Implementation: Read, understand, and implement detailed written and oral instructions, policies, methods, and procedures.
+ Relationship Building: Work as a part of the management team to develop and implement various procedures and practices using best practice standards.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university and experience equal to two years of fulltime work experience in quality assurance, quality improvement, or total quality management;
OR
an equivalent combination of experience and education substituting one year of the required experience for each 30 semester hours or one year of the required education to a maximum of four years.
