    Job Description

    BAE Systems, one of the world's leading defense contractors and a stable Fortune 500 Company, is hiring a Senior Supply Chain Planner for our GOCO (government owned contractor operated) facilities located in both Radford, VA.

     

    This is a fast-paced position at a growing site and we are looking for someone to hit the ground running.

    Location/Travel/Schedule:

    + Hybrid position requiring (3) days on-site in Radford, VA location.

    + This position will require up to 10% travel.

    + This role works a 9/80 schedule where you will have every other Friday off.

    Planning Responsibilities:

    + Initiate requisitions in support of production and operation's needs.

    + Classify inventory according to established stratification requirements.

    + Work with Materials and Procurement groups to address invoice and shipping issues.

    + Follow established processes for inventory additions.

    + Support inventory reduction projects.

    + Review and establish min/max levels and order quantities based on a defined set of criteria.

    + Support and lead process improvement teams.

    + Provide status of open requisitions to internal customers.

    + Provide yearly Planning training to Operations groups.

    + Assist with the identification and sourcing of critical spares.

    + Create and maintain part numbers for all tangible goods.

    + Learn and implement processes in accordance with MMAS.

    + Support buying organization with requisition requests for information.

    Transportation Responsibilities:

    + Coordinate shipments of hazardous and non-hazardous product both in CONUS and OS.

    + Select the most economical and efficient common or contract carrier, such as airfreight, motor carrier, water carrier, express mail, or U.S. Postal Service to transport the hazardous materials, tools and equipment.

    + Determine routing and arrange for shipment, considering such factors as nature of items being shipped, method of handling, size of shipment, and similar factors.

    + Prepare document packages including bill of lading (commercial or government) and associated shipping documents.

    + Update MRP system inventory database.

    + Track in-coming material shipments by rail via railcar information website and enter into our tracking database.

    + Work with the production areas to order transportation as needed for outbound products.

    + Coordinate with carriers on weekly product deliveries.

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills

    + Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent education/experience

    + Experience in planning and materials management and/or transportation

    + Proven Critical/Analytical thinking;

    + Exceptional attention to detail;

    + Excellent verbal communication skills;

    + Good persuasive writing skills;

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office,

    Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

    + Masters Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management

    + Experience in Maximo and/or Fourth Shift ERP systems

    + Knowledge of MMAS regulations

    + Previous experience in a government owned contractor operated facility (GOCO)

    + Hazardous Material Certification (Ammo 62 Technical Transportation of Hazardous Materials) or achieve this certification within 90 days of employment. (Requires a two-week off-site training class).

    Pay Information

     

    Full-Time Salary Range: $73778 - $125422

     

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
