    **MANTECH** seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented **Media Assessment Lead** to join our team in **Arlington, VA** . This is a full-time, **on-site** position.

     

    The Media Assessment Lead will lead a team conducting open-source research and message assessment for a high-profile government customer. The selected individual will review a large volume of information across all news media formats (print, online, television, radio, and social media) to identify key themes in coverage, judge the effectiveness of communications efforts, and encapsulate conclusions into easily consumed reports to aid senior officials in strategic decision-making. This person will manage multiple analytical tasks and brief high-level officials on findings.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    + Leading qualitative and quantitative analysis of domestic and international news and social media to assess strategic messaging effectiveness and narrative trends, and make recommendations to leadership on how to achieve communication objectives

    + Managing quick-turn deliverables and long-term initiatives from inception to completion, ensuring high-quality, timely analytical outputs

    + Translating mission objectives into structured research plans and analytical products tailored for senior decision-makers

    + Developing and refining messaging performance indicators to measure communication outcomes and recommend improvements

    + Producing executive briefings, communications assessments, and related materials for high-level government and military stakeholders

    + Guiding collaborative efforts across the team to plan report topics, public engagement strategies, and content direction

    + Leveraging advanced media monitoring tools to evaluate message reach and sentiment across traditional and digital platforms, and proposing innovative approaches for social media engagement

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Communications, Journalism, History, or International Relations

    + A minimum of 3 years of experience in media research, social media data gathering, and top-line analysis; this may be satisfied by a mix of media research, public affairs/public relations work, and national security-related experience

    + Strong understanding of traditional and digital media landscapes, including national security or foreign policy topics

    + Demonstrated ability to analyze media trends and narratives using qualitative and quantitative methods, and presenting the information

    + Excellent writing and editing skills for executive-level audiences, with high attention to detail

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams

    + Proven experience managing complex projects under tight deadlines while contributing to team leadership and production

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Master’s degree in a relevant discipline

    + At least 1 year of experience in a senior-level public affairs or strategic communications role

    + Familiarity with platforms such as Factiva, Lexis-Nexis, TVEyes, Talkwalker, Meltwater, Cision, or Sprinklr

    + Experience constructing complex Boolean search queries for media monitoring

    Clearance Requirements:

    + An active Secret clearance is required to begin employment and must be maintained thereafter.

    Physical Requirements:

    + The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

    + Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
