Skylos Sports Medicine, a BluePearl Veterinary Partner in Frederick, MD is now hiring a part-time kennel assistant for our veterinary rehabilitation department!

**Schedule:** Part-time - Fridays from 8:00am - 6:00 pm.

**Pay:** $18.69 - 22.41 / hour

The vision for Skylos Sports Medicine was developed in 2015 by husband-and-wife Drs. Peter and Faith Lotsikas and is the realization of their united dream of providing personalized orthopedic and rehabilitation therapy for the canine companion. Our hospital provides a unique orthopedic and rehabilitation team focused on treating and preventing injury, aiding recovery, and enhancing performance. Helping dogs live well is what drives us.

A Kennel Assistant attends to the basic needs of animals that are patients of the hospital and cleans the hospital facility, equipment, and tools. The role may include assistance with basic patient care such as the safe restraint of patients during treatment, electronic, verbal or phone communications with clients, interactions with electronic medical record software and and innately calming presence for our patients.

As a Kennel Assistant, you will:

+ Observe patients for obvious signs of health concerns and report any findings to senior staff.

+ Clean and disinfect areas of the hospital as often as is necessary to maintain high standards of care.

+ Prepare for the patient's visit, clean patient cages, and bedding, and maintain medical equipment.

+ Safely approach and restrain cooperative patients as needed during treatments.

+ Provide routine attention to patients, including walking dogs, assisting clients move pets to and from the exam and therapy rooms.

+ Effectively clean and maintain hospital equipment and tools.

+ Quantify patient voids and report findings to senior Veterinary Assistant or Technician.

+ Remove and wash soiled laundry and keep clean laundry stocked.

+ Patrol facility regularly to ensure cleanliness.
