    Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

     

    As a **Site Performance Engineer** **for Production-Premix** you will provide support on continuous improvement and improve plant projects for the Schenectady site. The role supports improvements to all operational areas of the site, optimising plant availability and resolving performance killers. Continuous tracking and development of Key Performance Indicators, standardization of processes and building engagement around LEAN kaizen events while advancing various site improvement projects. This is for our Human Nutrition and Health division where we produce liquids and dry blends for our dietary supplements and food.

    Your key responsibilities:

    + Performs all work in alignment with SHE, Quality behaviors and standards also adhering to the Schenectady Code of Conduct.

    + Monitor and optimize production processes, investigate process discrepancies, propose and test potential solutions. Set up, plan, execute and analyze experiments, report results, and provide recommendations. Risk evaluations on proposed changes (safety and business) for production process changes.

    + Follows site behavioral programs including performance expectations for training completion, SHE, Quality activities execution, use of PPE, following procedures, etc. and other tasks assigned by management.

    + Lead continuous improvement initiatives – use of Lean, 5S, and 6-Sigma approaches and techniques to identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives in our manufacturing operations in support of site safety, waste, quality, and productivity performance. Direct responsibility for cost reduction and streamlining processes.

    + Support operations with the production of existing and new products. Interact with production personnel to trouble shoot and optimize processes to meet quality standards and plant throughput goals.

    + Support Root Cause Analysis with investigations and data collection and analysis to determine corrective actions for addressing internal and external complaints.

    You bring:

    + Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering Discipline: Electrical /Mechanical /Chemical engineering.

    + The level of experience generally necessary to effectively perform the job’s responsibilities is 3 – 5 years as an engineer in a manufacturing environment.

    + Previous experience in a GMP/food environment is desirable but not required.

    + Must develop/maintain a strong working relationship with staff in Production and Maintenance wherein most improvements are implemented, and outcomes reside.

    + Requires proficiency in Lean/Six Sigma concepts.

    + Requires ability to bridge technological know-how with “real world” operation to ensure successful implementation of solutions.

    + Requires an advanced level of computer literacy and data entry skill with spreadsheet programs and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint).

    + Requires excellent oral and written communication skills.

    + Requires good interpersonal skills to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.

    + Must be capable, hands-on, highly engaged, and willing to work in a team environment and to actively promote cooperation between team members.

     

    The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. **Salary $70,000-$90,000.**

     

    In addition to base salary, we also offer a comprehensive total rewards package, inclusive of annual incentive pay, a retirement savings plan, health care coverage, paid time off, recognition programs and a broad range of other benefits. All benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements.
