Job Summary
As a Senior Engineering Program Manager you will plan, lead, and manage engineering development programs. You will take an active role in leading a cross functional team, within NetApp’s matrix organization, focused on driving program execution from definition through successful release and transfer to operations. This is a challenging position working in a very fast paced environment, with the opportunity to utilize your experience as a subject matter expert to positively influence team goals, as well as greater business outcomes
Additionally, the ideal candidate should have experience in managing cross-functional teams and implementing innovative solutions to address any challenges that may arise. They should be able to work collaboratively with stakeholders and possess the ability to make strategic decisions that align with our company's goals and objectives
Job Responsbilities
Provide a leadership role to the core program team of professionals from Engineering Management, Marketing, Operations, Finance and Global Services functions, to drive all pertinent issues related to the program life cycle.
Work with the management team in planning and managing company resources to execute development project or project components from design phase through implementation.
Identify and communicate project scope and ensure program milestones and objectives are met.
Keep management informed of key issues and changes which may impact expected business results.
Analyze problems and drive solutions involving multiple elements of program planning.
Ensure that projects adhere to the company processes and initiate process improvements as needed.
Job Requirements
A minimum of 12 years of experience is required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills are required.
Excellent knowledge of product lifecycle, tools (Jira, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint), processes, and operations planning.
Ability to provide leadership in a team environment to meet aggressive goals and pre-defined metrics requirements.
Demonstrated experience working with hardware and software development engineers on complex projects.
Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices.
Program Management training or demonstrated experience. PMP is desireable
Ability to work on complex issues where analysis situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Ability to develop longer-range project plans and schedules to complete complex projects.
Systems NPI experience is a plus
Education
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience is required. A Master of Science Degree in Engineering, or an MBA is desirable.
Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is 180,200 - 268,400 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
