Budget Title: Instructional Support Assistant (SL-1)
Salary: $45,372
Binghamton University's Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences Innovative Simulation and Practice Center, located on the health sciences campus in Johnson City, New York, is hiring for an Innovative Simulation and Practice Assistant.
Responsibilities include:
+ Maintaining current knowledge of simulation/lab equipment catalogs and operation manuals
+ Programming of simulators according to scenario specifications
+ Troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all equipment including mannequins, computers, audio-visual and recording equipment
+ Role-playing as patients for student activities
+ Maintaining inventory of supplies needed for simulation activities
+ Setting up and take down of simulation activities
+ May involve rapid turnover of simulation lab set up
+ Retrieving and unpacking supplies and equipment
+ Maintaining organization of all storage areas
+ Upkeeping of ISPC areas
+ Supporting ISPC staff as needed
+ Scheduling of Innovative Practice Center activities
+ Preparation of correspondence
+ Gathering information, preparing and editing documents
+ Coordinating and planning special events
+ Welcoming ISPC visitors and vendors
+ Developing new multimedia products or environments with creativity
Job Requirements:
+ Associates Degree in healthcare, IT, or communications related field
+ Willingness to role play as a standardized patient
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Suite
+ Proficiency with hardware such as Windows and Apple computers, video cameras and microphones
+ Physical ability to lift, move, maintain and set up computer, audio-visual and simulation lab equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance
+ Ability to maintain a collaborative nature and flexible hours, as activities may be scheduled outside normal business hours
+ Effective organizational skills
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills
+ Ability to master proprietary software quickly
+ Ability to work with technical and mechanical tools
Preferred:
+ Bachelor's degree in healthcare, IT or a communications related field
+ Experience operating Apple and Windows platform computer systems
+ Experience working in information technology or a healthcare simulation facility
