What you'll do...
We are seeking a talented and passionate **Staff, Software Engineer** to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a large project environment with
solid technical leadership abilities and strong development background in Java along
with experience in Cosmos DB, Kafka, Cloud Implementation architecture and a proven
track record of delivering high-quality scalable software applications.
The Walmart Seller Fulfilled Group is poised to revolutionize the way third-party
sellers approach fulfilment. Our team is dedicated to streamline the process for sellers
to set up their shipping configurations with Walmart, prioritizing customer satisfaction
above all else. By enhancing shipping services, expanding our product catalogue, and
ensuring accurate delivery promises, we aim to deliver superior experience to our
customers.
This initiative involves navigating a complex and dynamic landscape, where we are
constantly presented with challenging problems that require innovative solutions. Our

We are tackling some of the most exciting and complex challenges in eCommerce
and logistics today:
+ Designing a cost-efficient supply chain using Walmart's fulfilment network
+ Developing real-time carrier performance dashboards for sellers and internal teams.
+ Building capabilities like shipping protection, promotion platforms, and engagement engines to ensure long-term seller success.
+ Enabling cross-border logistics by disaggregating global flows from first mile to last-mile and simplifying international trade through seamless duty and tax management.
+ Launching platforms to enable partner collaboration, audit and reconciliation, and intelligent shipping decisions using ML.

What you'll do:
+ Provide deep technical expertise and thought leadership that helps accelerate adoption of the absolute best engineering practices, while maintaining knowledge on industry innovations, trends, and practices.
+ Lead and participate in medium to large-scale projects by reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions, gathering requested information, writing, and developing code, and conducting unit testing. Communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders.
+ Developing highly scalable services to process millions of requests per day and solve complex software systems problems by leveraging state-of-the-art technology.
+ Gaining exposure to various technologies used in Marketplace and E-commerce platforms.
+ Designing and developing backend microservices and APIs for web applications using JVM ecosystem (Kotlin, Java) and other languages and frameworks (Python, Go)
+ Collaborate with project teams and cross functional teams. Troubleshoot open issues and bug-fixes, ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs. Interact with project manager to provide e input on project plan.
+ Troubleshoot business and production issues by gathering information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, root cause), engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues. Formulate action plans, performing actions as designated in the plan. Interpret the results to determine further action, perform root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues and complete online documentation.
+ Provide support to the business by responding to users' questions, concerns, and issues (for example, technical feasibility, implementation strategies). Facilitate resolutions and lead cross-functional partnerships.
+ Driving projects of high visibility across the organization.
+ Leading team in designing systems and apps.
+ Leading team projects by reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions while gathering requested information.
+ Leading the discovery phase of projects to produce high level design by partnering with the product management, project management, and business and user experience teams.
What you'll bring:
+ At least 7 years of experience inarchitecting large scale systemswith challenges of scalability and delivering sub-second latencies on 99.99% uptime.
+ Expertise inone or more programming languages(e.g. Java, Python, etc.)
+ Strong background inalgorithms and data structures.
+ Experience in leading teams and deliveringlarge scale distributed systems and event-driven architecture.
+ Proven understandingof microservices oriented architecture and extensible REST APIs
+ Experience with cloud application development including scalable, data driven, Cloud Cost-optimization and message-oriented architecture.
+ Understanding of SaaS or PaaS or IaaS industry with hands on experience with public or privatecloud offerings(e.g., AWS, GAE, Azure)
+ Experience using any of the automation toolset likeAppium, Selenium, Jira, Rest Assured, AssetJ , Gatling, etc. or equivalent tools is a plus.
+ Experience with CI/CD pipelines and best practices. Automated deployment experience is a plus.
+ Advanced knowledge of performance, scalability, and system architecture with an eye toward avoiding and reducing technical debt.
+ Practical knowledge of agile software development methodologies (e.g., XP, Scrum)
+ Experience and fluency with relational / non-relational databases (e.g. MySQL, Oracle, Cassandra, etc.)
+ Strong inclination towards exploring and learning new technologies.
+ Understandingmachine learning preferred.
+ Previous experience in the marketplace domain

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
