Director of Sourcing Manual & Seating

AsDirector Sourcing Manual & Seating, you will be responsible for leading the global sourcing strategy and execution for all manual wheelchair and seating products at Permobil. This includes driving cost efficiency, supplier performance, and long-term value creation through strong commercial leadership and strategic supplier partnerships. You will collaborate closely with R&D, operations, and other key stakeholders to align sourcing activities with product development, technology roadmaps, and business objectives. The role plays a critical part in ensuring a resilient, compliant, and high-performing supply base that supports Permobil’s growth and innovation.

Key Tasks

Lead and develop an international sourcing team, ensuring the right capabilities to meet business needs

Define and implement global sourcing strategies for manual and seating products

Lead commercial negotiations and manage supplier agreements and performance

Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships to drive innovation, compliance, and value

Proactively assess and mitigate risks to ensure continuity and resilience in the supply chain

Support R&D and product development projects through efficient sourcing planning and execution

Drive cost reductions, spend control, and profitability through strategic sourcing initiatives

Act as sponsor and relationship owner for key strategic and tactical suppliers

Plan and manage sourcing budgets and resource allocation that contribute to long-term business strategy

Foster a positive and compliant work environment aligned with Permobil values and standards

Contribute to the Group Sourcing leadership team with cross-functional responsibility for sourcing and supplier quality

Lead the development of sourcing processes, tools, and engagement models across the organization

Your Background

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, business or economics and/or; equivalent work experience from strategic sourcing, supply chain or similar positions

Professional education through accrediting organizations and/or equivalent work experience in: Strategic sourcing, Legal awareness, Business negotiation, Supplier evaluation/auditing and supplier development, Lean production, Supply chain management and logistics, Quality systems and control, Supplier relationship management, Risk management, Category management, Partnering and strategic alliances or equivalent

Experience from strategic sourcing in an international context

Expertise in international business relations and supplier management

Excellent knowledge in value creation, supplier relations, category management, end to end supply chain, business analysis (such as cost drivers and cost break down analysis), business negotiations and contract management (including agreement writing), product development process and execution model

Good understanding of lean concept and lean production, product life cycle management

Good engineering and/or technical understanding, including quality, logistics and production engineering

IS/IT system knowledge
