Position Summary:
Reporting to the Associate Director of Research Operations, the Clinical Research Assistant works closely with team members and community research partners to ensure enrollment, engagement, and scientific goals are met for all components of the study. The study includes: increasing the engagement of heterogeneous populations in cognitive aging and dementia research; investigating group-based differences and related mechanisms in cognitive aging and dementia; and preparing professionals with the knowledge and skills to effectively engage with individuals from heterogeneous backgrounds.
Additionally, they are the liaison among the Principal Investigator/study team, participating sites, study sponsors, and other collaborators to administer protocols, assisting with ensuring goals and objectives are met according to set timelines.
Essential Functions:
Assists study staff in the development and deployment of educational and training materials for study participants.
Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Research Coordinator and/or Associate Director of Operations, provides assistance in the development of education and training initiatives.
Serves as “help desk support" to participants and their study partners as they move through each step of the study, including scheduling visits, answering questions, providing resources, clarifying the research process, and helping resolve any issues that arise. These interactions will primarily occur by phone, though web portal, email, and text options will also be available.
Works closely and under the supervision of other team members (remotely and in-person) on related projects and community research partners as directed.
Assists with preparing progress reports and related outcome documentation.
Liaises with other Cores/components of the study and team members across related studies as directed.
Coordinates, facilitates, and documents meetings and trainings.
Functions as a key member of the Rivera Mindt Lab team.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1 year of clinical or laboratory research experience or a combination of relevant research experience and education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, or a related field, preferred.
Fluent Spanish speakers are preferred.
Prior experience with community engagement and heterogeneous populations is a plus, as is experience being part of an academic clinical research group.
Prior experience working with culturally and/or medically vulnerable and heterogeneous populations.
Minimum Salary: $50,000
Maximum Salary: $60,000
