Title: Sr. Category Manager

Duties: AutoZone’s Sr. Category Manager is responsible for buying merchandise within their category, as well as pricing and marketing. You will negotiate with vendors to select products. Key responsibilities include validating product quality; negotiating programs; analyzing past buying trends, sales records to produce internal reports; managing category inventory; and troubleshooting supply chain issues. The Sr. Category Manager will also ensure the category meets established performance targets by adding and deleting products in response to industry changes and customer demands. Up to 20% travel internationally to company offices and within the US to retail locations.

Requirements: Must have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or related and 7 years of Category Management experience in a large automotive parts retail environment, including:

+ Using Microsoft Excel techniques (Vlookup, Pivot tables, Sumif, Countif) to analyze large datasets, market research, industry data and ACES/PIES automotive catalog information to manage application specific automotive part categories, product life cycle, stocking and inventory decisions

+ Knowledge of and experience diagnosing automotive parts failure to advise on issues from the field and make decisions regarding product quality and features

+ Managing global vendor relationships and negotiating merchandise programs and purchase agreements

+ Developing and delivering strategic business plans to leadership

+ At least 7 years supervisory experience of direct report(s)

Must be available for up to 20% domestic and international travel.
