    Shape the Future of Mission-Critical Embedded Systems

     

    We're seeking an exceptional Systems Software Engineer/Software Developer to lead our sophisticated DNDU 4.0.3 project and spearhead our advanced IOC development initiatives. This pivotal role will drive the evolution of our proprietary software for high-performance VME/VPX-based embedded systems that power mission-critical applications.

    As a key member of our specialized engineering team, you'll architect and implement robust software solutions that operate at the core of advanced embedded systems. Your expertise will directly influence the capability, reliability, and performance of systems that matter.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Architect & Develop Sophisticated Embedded Solutions - Design, engineer, and optimize high-performance embedded software for VME/VPX hardware platforms operating in demanding environments

    + Lead Technical Innovation - Spearhead DNDU 4.0.3 development while driving advancement of next-generation and legacy IOC (Input/Output Controller) capabilities

    + Master Low-Level System Integration - Create and enhance sophisticated scripts and automation frameworks on RHEL 7.2 specifically tailored for embedded applications

    + Drive Cross-Functional Excellence - Partner with electrical, systems, and test engineering teams to achieve seamless hardware/software integration that meets stringent performance requirements

    + Own Full Development Lifecycle - Take command of the complete software engineering process from requirements analysis through design, implementation, rigorous testing, and ongoing support

    + Technical Troubleshooting Leadership - Lead complex system integration and troubleshooting efforts in both laboratory and field deployment environments

    + Technical Mastery - Deep proficiency with Linux/Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7.2) specifically in embedded systems contexts

    + Low-Level Development Skills - Strong foundation in C/C++ programming, device drivers, board support packages, and real-time operating system principles

    + Problem-Solving Excellence - Exceptional analytical abilities and creative approach to overcoming complex technical challenges in resource-constrained environments

    This high-impact position is based 100% onsite at our advanced development facility in the historic Philadelphia Navy Yard. You'll work in a collaborative environment with access to specialized hardware labs and testing facilities essential for embedded systems development.

    Required Qualifications

    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline and alt least 3 years work expeirence or HS and 9 years relevant experience.

     

    + Demonstrated experience in **embedded software development** targeting **VME/VPX chassis** .

    + Strong proficiency with Linux (RHEL 7.2) in an embedded systems environment.

    + Solid programming skills in **C/C++** , **Python** , and **Java/JavaScript** .

    + Familiarity with HTML for interface development or embedded web applications.

    + Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.

    + US Citizen with a Secret clearance or the ability to get a Secret clearance.

    Desired Qualifications

    + Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).

    + Familiarity with system-level debugging and performance tuning in embedded environments.

    + Exposure to low-level hardware interfaces and device drivers.

    + Knowledge of configuration management tools and version control (e.g., Git).

    Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.

     

    Posted Salary Range

     

    USD $77,000.00 - USD $120,275.00 /Yr.
