R e ports to: Case Management Program Senior Director
Job Status : Full-Time, Exempt
Work Schedule: 32 hours per week, Mondays- Thursdays and includes one evening until 8pm each week
Position Overview
BARCC’s mission is to end sexual violence through healing and social change. The case manager position p rovid es culturally appropriate and responsive case management services to survivors , ensuring that their housing, education, economic, health care, and other basic needs are met in alignment with BARCC’s mission and philosophy.
Key responsibilities
• Provide culturally sensitive and trauma informed advocacy, information, safety pl anning, crisis intervention, emotional support, access to resources, and referrals to survivors of sexual violence
+ Research and apply the most up-to-date knowledge of resources to support survivors’ needs
+ Collaborate with direct services staff on cases requiring multidisciplinary intervention
+ Develop and maintain comprehensive partnerships with community, organizations, advocates, and government to facilitate effective advocacy and referrals
+ Provide accompaniment to clients to local agencies to facilitate access to benefits, housing, etc
+ Participate in training and professional development to maintain current knowledge on resources, policies, and best practices to support survivors’ needs and apply learned knowledge and skills
+ Apply to become a Certified Application Counselor (CAC) to assist clients with specific health insurance needs and maintain role as a CAC with MassHealth/the Health Connector.
+ Maintain current and accurate records of services provided to clients as enumerated in program/agency protocol. Ensure that records are completed in a timely manner and comply with BARCC’s record keeping guidelines.
+ Participate in regular individual supervision, team and agency meetings
+ Engage in building a BARCC community of inclusion and equity, build collaborative relationships, foster personal and agency wide resilience, access, and actively contribute to DEI internally and externally, and support sustainability and innovation in accordance with BARCC’s mission
+ Other related duties as assigned by supervisor and agency
Qualifications
+ Passion for BARCC’s mission to end sexual violence and promote social change
+ Minimum of 2 years of direct client work experience in housing advocacy, public benefits, financial assistance, or social services
+ Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW) or equivalent experience
+ Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
+ Strong knowledge of Greater Boston-area resources, especially those serving survivors, low-income individuals and families, and marginalized communities
+ Experience working with survivors of trauma, violence, and abuse
+ Excellent crisis management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
+ Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
+ Comfort working over the phone, in person, and using a database for case management
+ Willingness to accompany survivors to appointments as needed
+ Commitment to equity, inclusion, and survivor-centered advocacy
Work Environment
+ Hybrid role with in-person client meetings and office-based work. Occasional evening hours to support survivor needs. Ability to travel locally for client support and agency collaborations. Must be comfortable with occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs) and sitting/standing for extended periods
Compensation and Benefits
+ Annual Salary $55,000-$65,000, commensurate with experience
