The Portfolio Manager II – Real Estate Group role is tasked with executing all portfolio management activities for monitoring, identifying, and managing the credit risk of the CRE portfolio which generally consists of loan relationships greater than $5,000,000. The Portfolio Manager will manage the associated credit risks of an assigned CRE loan portfolio which includes analysis of borrower and guarantor financial statements, annual reviews, performance covenant testing, extensions, modifications, and non-performing loan management. Key highlights of the role will include the following:
+ Partner with Relationship Managers to effectively lead the oversight and management of an assigned portfolio of CRE loans/relationships. Primary job responsibilities will focus on management of an assigned portfolio of existing loans.
+ Perform credit underwriting duties for existing client relationships for assigned portfolio, which may include but are not limited to the following: perform detailed credit analysis to complete annual reviews and/or modifications/extensions to determine borrower/guarantor repayment capacity, appropriate loan structuring recommendations, collateral analysis on multiple asset classes and preparation of pricing models suitable for each credit request.
+ Prepare and present credit packages for credit and loan committee review and approval of annual reviews, modifications, renewals, and other requests as necessary, utilizing Bank MIS.
+ Monitor and document covenant compliance in accordance with loan documents and bank policy on a timely basis. Follow established protocols to monitor and cure when possible documentation exceptions, past due financial reporting and performance covenants.
+ Recognize and manage early warning signs for the portfolio on a recurring basis, which may include but are not limited to the following: analyze borrower / guarantor / property financial performance upon receipt of reporting requirements, either monthly, quarterly or annually. Fully analyze and confirm financial covenant compliance, analyze payment performance benchmarks and perform regular financial reviews.
+ Provide recurring customer service to existing and prospective clients, which includes direct contact with customers either through participation in joint sales calls with Relationship Managers or direct correspondence with clients.
+ Perform various projects/tasks as needed with an emphasis on maintaining UMB TUCE at all times.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills:
+ Demonstrates excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
+ Demonstrates excellent level of understanding of credit underwriting of all major investment CRE property types
+ Demonstrates ability to understand and interpret policies/procedures, contracts, loan documents, credit reports, financial statements, and property reports
+ Demonstrates excellent analytical skills, including underwriting of CRE properties and markets; and guarantor financial statements, including real estate schedules
+ Demonstrates expert knowledge and understanding of how to process, structure, and renew/extend maturing loans
+ Demonstrates strong knowledge of bank products, services, and bank operations
+ Demonstrates ability to be self-starter, show initiative, and transfer knowledge to less experienced peers
+ Demonstrates strong proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
+ Demonstrates knowledge of commercial lending software
+ Ability to prospect and network at various levels within a company and industry
+ Ability to conduct global cash flow (GCF) analysis of borrowers and guarantors utilizing tax returns, credit reports, and personal financial statements
+ Advanced Excel skills - can create Pivot tables, conduct V&H Lookup; Simple Macros, etc.
+ Familiar with FIS Loan Accounting System
Requirements:
_MINIMUM:_
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Real Estate or related fields
+ 3+ years commercial real estate experience including credit analysis/underwriting
+ Current valid driver’s license
_PREFERRED:_
+ 5+ years commercial real estate experience including credit analysis/underwriting, and 2+ years of commercial banking experience.
Compensation Range:
$57,760.00 - $124,170.00
