Adult Protective Services (APS) Assessor - Region 5: Central Indiana

Summary:

SSO is hiring Assessors to support the State of Indiana Family & Social Services Administration. This role will Investigate allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation involving endangered adults.

This role does require on-site investigations. Travel may be required within the following counties: _Boone, Hamilton, Hendricks, Marion, Montgomery, Howard, Tipton, Clinton_

Responsibilities:

+ Investigate allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation involving endangered adults

+ Conduct thorough investigations, including interviews, record reviews, and collaboration with other investigative agencies

+ Initiate and facilitate referrals to services and community resources

+ Document investigation activities, including case planning, safety planning, case notes, and findings

+ Serve as the Priority A (within 24 hours of receipt) responder to initiatetimely contact with clients facing immediate harm on a rotating basis

+ Respond to all assigned investigations within the required timeframe

+ Review and respond to quality assurance evaluations

Skills and Qualifications:

+ Ability to think critically, incorporating multiple factors into larger concepts

+ Strong organizational skills with abilities to simultaneously manage multiple investigations

+ Ability to work with and relate to others with customer relation techniques, professionalism, and respect for other cultures

+ Ability to effectively use active listening and interviewing skills

+ Ability to adapt quickly when policies and regulations change

+ Must be computer literate and have MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet skills

+ Ability to foster teamwork with all levels of management and staff

+ Ability to work well independently and within a team

+ Superior verbal and written communication skills

+ Strong decision-making skills, with accuracy and attention to detail

+ 1+ years of experience with adult protective services, investigatory, social services, human services, or law enforcement work

Education:

+ Bachelor’s degree preferred

+ The usual work schedule is full-time: Monday through Friday. Though this role is virtual, you are expected to have local travel up to 50% of the time.

Compensation for roles at Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO) varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, SSO provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, SSO provides a range of benefits for this role.

Under the federal laws relating to the F-1 STEM EAD program, SSO may be able to support a STEM EAD extension application at the sole discretion of your Designated School Official.
