    Introduction

    Global Merchant & Network Services primarily focuses on the businesses that accept our cards. We bring together the businesses that manage and evolve the company's relationships with the millions of merchants around the world that accept American Express, as well as the team that runs the company’s payment network and manages bank partnerships globally.

     

    Network & Acquirer Solutions (NAS) drives the development of new payment services and products for the American Express Global Network Issuers, Acquirers and Merchants and is responsible for the payment network, safely and securely processing more than ~$1.6 trillion in transaction volume globally each year.

    About The Role

    Reporting to the Senior Vice President - Amex Global Network, the Director Assistant will be responsible for managing a range of strategic and complex business priorities. The Director Assistant will collaborate across a variety of business partners, crafting all executive presentations and reviews and manage requests from American Express Senior Management.

     

    Core responsibilities include organize Business Unit Reviews, prepare the Network Council, lead the investment planning process for the Network, coordinate business case creation & evaluation, and Roadmap publications & reviews.

     

    Other responsibilities include driving critical business initiatives, coordinating cross-team initiatives, preparing all official communications, partnering with various teams relating to overarching Network initiatives, while also leading all talent-related processes.

     

    The Director Assistant is expected to provide strategic insight and thought leadership around various business initiatives including business strategy, strategic & operational planning and organizational evolution.

     

    This position requires regular interaction with all teams within the NAS Network Product & Enablement team, the GMNS Executive offices, the CEG team, the Finance team, and other NAS teams (including COEs).

     

    It also requires flexibility and the ability to effectively function in a dynamic environment, including the ability to address ad hoc projects that arise based on developing business needs while balancing other priorities.

    Requirements/Qualifications

    + Results Oriented: Proven track record of working across various business partners to deliver key strategic projects.

    + Highly collaborative: Ability to collaborate with and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver value beyond traditional means.

    + Effective communicator and influencer: Demonstrated ability to effectively influence and organize people to drive complex organizational and business strategy changes. Excellent communication skills, proficient in developing excellent quality presentations and deliverables for an executive audience.

    + Cross-functional team leadership: Ability to mobilize and lead cross-functional team collaboration to achieve results in a fast paced, multi-partner environment with constant change. Demonstrated track record for delivering results in complex and highly matrixed organizations.

    + Strategic Thinker: Proven ability to translate ideas into executable business strategies and plans.

    + Business Acumen: Strong business and financial acumen and analytically focused

    + Prioritization: Superior organizational and project management skills with an ability to anticipate and prioritize

    + Previous Experience: Consulting or corporate strategy background and payments experience preferred

    Qualifications

    Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
