    This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and may have the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.

     

    The employee in this position sells maps and manuals to the public or other government entities in person or by mail. Reviews requests, helps answer questions, and assists with completing forms. Collects appropriate fees and provides transaction reports to management and the Office of Finance.

     

    Work in a high-volume Mail Center, sorting and delivering incoming mail, packages, and freight to MnDOT employees located in Central Office and off-site locations. Preparing mail, packages, and freight shipments by using a variety of mailing equipment and software, for shipping by the USPS and common carrier delivery services.

     

    Provide mail handling and backup courier van deliveries for the MnDOT Mail Center. Process, sort, and deliver incoming and outgoing inter-office, USPS mail, and parcels. Deliver and pick up supplies to and from the MnDOT location, and other State Agencies in the Metropolitan area via a MnDOT courier vehicle.

     

    The position may also be responsible for backing up other MnDOT facility operation functions, including, Inventory Center and Motor Pool.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Accounting/budgeting/expense reporting sufficient to use a computerized point-of-sale (POS) accounting system for budgeting, revenue reporting, inventory, and procurement

    + Use computerized inventory management software systems and applications to direct items according to established routing schemes,

    + Data entry skills sufficient to create database records and update entries promptly.

    + Customer service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous, and accurate information to a variety of customers over the phone, in person, and via email.

    + Ability to physically stand, retrieve deliveries of mail/boxes that may weigh up to 70lbs, and sort mail prior to loading into the vehicle to then be distributed.

    + Active, valid, and applicable Class D (basic) driver’s license
