Job Description
Inver Hills Community College invites applicants for adjunct/temporary part-time instructors to teach courses in our English Composition sequence. Faculty at Inver Hills Community College display a strong student focus with special attention to a range of learners, their beliefs, and positionalities. Successful candidates are comfortable with classroom instruction, online synchronous instruction, and online asynchronous instruction.

Available Courses:
+ Composition I (corequisite, standalone, part of first-year community) sections: meets Tues/Thursday mornings (On-Campus)
+ Composition I: meets M/W afternoons (Synchronous Online)
+ Composition II courses: meets Tuesday/Thursday mornings and online asynchronous
+ Introduction to World Literature: meets online asynchronous
Fall Semester Dates: August 25, 2025 - December 18, 2025

Salary Range:
+ If teaching less than 5 credits (Adjunct): Per credit rate of $775 - $1650.
+ If teaching 5 or more credits total (Temporary, PT): $43,067.00 - 94,542.00 Annually (Based upon 1.0 FTE of 30 credits per years. Pay will be prorated, based upon credit load).
+ * Salary placement is determined on the basis of education and experience and in accordance with the 2024 - 2025 MSCF Contract (http://www.minnstate.edu/system/working/docs/contracts/mscf-contract.pdf#page=61) , and conducted by the Minnesota State System Office.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Master's degree with a major in English or a Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in English.
Preferred Qualification
+ Demonstrated experience in, and an ongoing commitment to, working effectively with and providing education related to marginalized communities, including Black, Indigenous, People of Color, underrepresented religious groups; new immigrant populations; people with disabilities and disabled communities; women; LGBTQIA identities and expressions; and first-generation students from economically oppressed backgrounds.
+ Experience teaching English Composition, especially in co-requisite form.
+ Experience teaching first-generation, PSEO, and non-traditional students
