Job Description
This position is responsible for the entirety of the screening and disbursements of the payments made from St. Cloud Technical & Community College local and state finance accounts, ensuring that all goods and services have been received and approved so that payments are processed according to the laws and regulations of the State of Minnesota and Minnesota State as well as the allocation of various charges between cost centers. In addition to the disbursement function, this position is responsible for all aspects of student payroll processing, verification and payment of employee expense reports and related deductions and tuition waiver calculations.
Salary Range:
$21.90 - $29.65
Minimum Qualifications
+ Basic accounting procedures sufficient to complete forms and documents that comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) standards and maintain accurate and complete financial records
+ Accounting sufficient to reconcile differences between invoices, receipts and purchase orders, and assess needs based on data and events affecting the account
+ Knowledge of using spreadsheet applications, such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets to enter, compile, store, and retrieve data.
+ Ability to: Use word processing, and other software applications to prepare reports.
+ Respond effectively to clients, coworkers, and customers who have questions about agency operations and procedures (in person, in writing, on the phone, and through presentations and other electronic correspondence)
+ Knowledge of communications sufficient to: Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
+ Ability to present information to diverse customers.
Preferred Qualification
+ Minimum of two years of experience in an accounts payable or similar accounting position.
+ Knowledge of governmental accounting systems (or comparable), sufficient to query and compile records and reports, and recognize and reconcile errors or inconsistencies.
+ Knowledge and experience working with SEMA4, SCUPPS and SWIFT
+ Knowledge of various staff contracts and policies to properly process timesheets and expense reimbursements.
+ Knowledge of State of Minnesota-specific computer systems and software programs including SWIFT, Marketplace and ISRS
+ Ability to organize tasks, initiate action, work independently within parameters, and communicate effectively with a broad range of people.
