    20 hours per week during the academic year

    *A seasonal position is a permanent position that works during the academic year which is mid-August to mid-May and typically has the summer off.

    Job Description

    Position Purpose

    Provide a source of knowledge and materials to aid students in assimilating coursework and projects. Provide support for HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) & FACM (Facilities Maintenance Engineer) instructors. Give input to instructors regarding labs and assignments, including possible revisions. Provide and maintain equipment for use in the lab and other technical program labs and provide security for said equipment. Supervise student use of equipment to ensure safety procedures are followed.

    Position Responsibilities

    + With a high level of independence provide advanced technical assistance, leadership, and supervision to HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) and FACM (Facilities Maintenance Engineer) students in the program labs.

    + Make available an updated supply of resource material, equipment, and supplies.

    + Communicate on a regular basis with faculty regarding facilities, equipment, and overall lab environment.

    Salary Range:

    $21.57 - $30.13/hour

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Post-secondary or industry relevant licensure in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) **AND** One (1) year of teaching/tutoring experience in HVAC/FACM (Facilities Maintenance Engineer) at the high school level. **- OR -**

    + Four (4) years of work experience in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) where no degree/certificate/diploma/ licensure is required. **- OR -**

    + An equivalent combination of education and work experience.

    Preferred Qualification

    + Experience working at a two-year or four-year public college or university.

    + Must be able to demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of working with diverse cultures and populations.

    + Requires ability to command respect and exercise authority in dealing with students.

    + Must have good human relation skills sufficiently to effectively collaborate with students, faculty, and staff.
