Job Description

Participate in architecture development and solution design sessions

Drive data quality processes like data profiling, data cleansing etc.

Guide other data engineers in the team

Lead requirements sessions and data analysis

Convert business requirements for information to technical specifications for data ingestion solutions

Engage with business stakeholders and source system SMEs to understand current data processes and develop data processing logic.

Define, design & implement different data ingestion patterns based on business needs & requirements

Lead the data modeling workstream; develop data models that are fit for business requirements using Erwin

Participate in data governance initiatives

Ensure data integrity & quality is maintained throughout the solution; develop data quality solutions as part of the data flow

Document data flows and other design specifications

Evaluate best-fit data ingestion, integration & replication tools for cloud-based data analytics use cases

Implement real-time data transfers to ensure data is made available to business at the right time & the right place

Maintain & support the data ingestion tools & solutions

Skills and Requirements

Proven experience in designing cloud-based data architectures

Able to design end-to-end solutions for data ingestion and data management

Proven experience as a data engineer in a cloud-based data analytics project; at least 3 similar project experience

Strong knowledge of Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow & Azure Data Platform

Hands-on experience in cloud-based data ingestion tools

Understanding & the ability to evaluate new age & best fit tools that may be new in the market

Expertise in cloud-based data ingestion (Microsoft Azure)

Strong knowledge & experience in cloud-based data warehousing & analytics

Strong understanding of data models; hands-on experience in developing large scale complex data models that are fit for cloud data warehouses using Erwin

Familiarity with BI and analytics

Experience with programming languages like SQL, Python, Spark etc.

Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative

Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
