Amazon Business Search Experience is seeking an exceptional Engineering Leader to spearhead our efforts in revolutionizing B2B commerce. This high-impact role will be instrumental in shaping the future of how businesses, governments, and institutions procure supplies on a global scale.
As a key member of our leadership team, you will drive the technical vision and strategy for building innovative solutions that enable business customers to efficiently research, discover, and purchase business, industrial, and scientific products across vast catalogs. Your expertise will be crucial in developing seamless experiences across multiple devices, marketplaces, and regions.
This position requires a visionary leader who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical leadership. You'll be at the forefront of solving complex challenges for a diverse client base - from individual professionals to large institutions - whose needs significantly differ from those of traditional Amazon customers.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to make a substantial impact on Amazon's fastest-growing segment, leading a team that's expanding even more rapidly than Amazon's overall impressive growth. Your leadership will be pivotal in driving innovation, scaling our operations, and ultimately transforming Search for B2B on a global scale.
Key job responsibilities
- Hire, mentor and lead software development managers.
- Lead design, implementation, and deployment of successful highly distributed, large scale services.
- Play a critical role in the broad business planning, working closely with senior executives to develop business targets and resource requirements.
- Help form long-term technical and business strategy and goals.
- Understand business context to decisions made within and across groups.
- Work closely with the engineers to architect and develop the best technical design and approach. Be a hands-on technical leader and contributor.
- Maintain a current understanding of industry and technology trends.
- Work with globally distributed team.

Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
