    As Manager of Regulatory Compliance, Safety, and RF Validation Engineering, you will lead a team of individual contributors and technical leads responsible for ensuring HW compliance across eero’s growing product portfolio. You will have the opportunity to work on enabling exciting eero products with innovative wireless connectivity technology. You will drive a culture of proactive compliance and design for safety integration into product development from early concept through sustaining. You will lead early development work assessing RF architecture, design validation, and ensuring eero’s product portfolio meets internal specifications and regulatory compliance. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on technical guidance, requiring both strategic thinking and practical execution to ensure products meet or exceed compliance requirements in all markets. Our ideal candidate wants to quickly solve problems, generate big ideas, and innovate to bring the best product to our customers while meeting regulatory requirements.

     

    This role requires a highly organized leader who is a strong communicator and influencer, able to support requirements with justifications and technically rich analysis. You will have a strong understanding of the physics behind RF communication, regulatory compliance scheme, and the processes required to specify, test, qualify, document, and maintain certifications related to EMI, EMC, RF, BT, Safety, and energy efficiency compliance for domestic and international markets. You will be the cornerstone of eero’s standardized and harmonized approach to HW compliance. You will have strong compliance engineering and design fundamentals and be able to distill complex requirements and issues to a variety of audiences.

     

    Key job responsibilities

     

    - Recruit, manage and maintain a world-class Hardware Compliance and RF Validation team

     

    - Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across engineering, product, and business teams

     

    - Actively educate the engineering and business team on critical RF performance and compliance requirements for new and existing products

     

    - Provide strategic guidance to design teams regarding compliance and regulatory design requirements and system performance requirements

     

    - Lead Design for Safety activities to ensure safety is designed into products

     

    - Drive standardization and harmonization of compliance and HW validation approaches across product lines

     

    - Work with certifying agencies and organizations to ensure new and existing designs comply with local, regional and national regulations

     

    - Lead regulatory compliance test plan and RF design validation test data reviews

     

    - Partner with Contract Manufacturers, 3rd party labs, and Telecommunications Certification Body (TCB) Program to test and validate eero products and support testing from a hardware and software perspective

     

    - Manage and track HW compliance and validation metrics to ensure operational excellence and timely delivery

     

    - Build robust process for continuous improvement of the workflow

     

    - Stay abreast to regulatory specifications to ensure internal standards and requirements are aligned with evolving specifications

     

    - Obtain compliance approvals for all product lines to ensure entry into domestic and international locations and markets

     

    - Define, create, execute, and document efficient RF validation infrastructure and test plans in partnership with HW design, connectivity, and system teams

     

    - Lead validation and compliance automation initiatives to increase efficiency

     

    - Dive deep into root cause analysis of issues found during the verification phase

     

    - International travel up to 20%

    Basic Qualifications

    - BS degree in an Engineering discipline

     

    - 5+ years of work experience managing a team

     

    - 10+ years of work experience in the wireless industry

     

    - Experience with RF/EMC regulation, testing, and debugging methodology

     

    - Prior hands-on experience with troubleshooting techniques related specifically to regulatory compliance issues

     

    - Experience in documenting product requirements extracted from regulatory standards

     

    - Experience certifying products with a range of international approval agencies

     

    - Experience with UL and Safety regulatory requirements

     

    - Understanding of wireless communication and connectivity technologies including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE, and 5G

     

    - Understanding of system development and HW validation testing methods and concepts for wireless devices

     

    - Experience on commercial test simulators and test systems such as Rohde & Schwarz or Keysight for lab validation

     

    - Experience using program management tools (JIRA, Confluence, PLM)

     

    - Ability to articulate compliance assessments through technical writing and presentations

     

    - Ability to clearly communicate with internal and external partners of all seniorities

    Preferred Qualifications

    - MS or PhD Degree in Engineering

     

    - Knowledge of cellular protocol stack, firmware/hardware, RF driver components with solid experience in debugging issues stemming from these areas

     

    - Experience dealing with ambiguity, changing direction, and being strategic and tactical as situations require

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $135,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $234,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
