Summary You will serve as a Training Specialist of SURFACE WARFARE OFFICERS SCHOOL. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. Responsibilities You will monitor and evaluate course content, in the Maritime Warfighting Directorate, for currency, applicability, adequacy, and accomplishment of learning objectives. You will develop performance standards for instructors and evaluate instructor performance. You will assign and evaluate training assessments (course, critiques, quizzes, etc.). You will provide comprehensive data used to develop status briefs, assessment briefs, and other strategic communication products and reports for presentation to Leadership. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Supporting instructional systems analysis, design, and development by addressing complex issues related to Maritime Warfare curriculum technology, design, and maintenance; 2) Developing curriculum aligned with established training standards for advanced leadership and management training programs; 3) Providing advice and technical support on curriculum analysis, design, development, implementation, instruction, and assessment for Maritime Warfare training courses; 4) Analyzing course content and reviews from student feedback, instructor evaluations, and training monitors to deliver actionable recommendations to supervisors; and 5) Collaborating independently or with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop course materials, including task analyses, learning objectives, schedules, lessons, instructional aids, training plans, and assessments.
