    The Boeing Company is seeking a **Senior Environmental Engineer/Scientist** based in either **Edwards AFB, CA** or **Palmdale, CA** .

     

    The Palmdale environmental engineer will help implement the Palmdale Environmental Management System (EMS), lead environmental processes and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Boeing policies, and provide visibility to site and EHS-Environment leadership.

    Position Responsibilities:

    + Serves as the primary liaison with local, regional, state and federal environmental regulatory agencies

    + Oversees USAF-funded environmental projects as well as audit and reporting requirements

    + Develops audit protocols and conducts compliance reviews for hazardous waste, air pollution control, spill prevention, drinking water, storm water, chemical reporting and other environmental programs

    + Collaborates with site leadership and other Boeing organizations to identify and minimize environmental risks associated with facility projects and operations

    + Provides occasional environmental support to other Boeing operations in the local area

    + Identifies opportunities to support sustainability by reducing hazardous waste, solid waste, water consumption and energy/greenhouse gas

    + Collaborates with other Boeing environmental engineers regionally and across the country to identify and replicate 'best practices' to support compliance, regulatory risk reduction, and conservation initiatives

    **This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.** A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    + Bachelors in science related field

    + 5+ years of experience in environmental health & safety

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    + Experience supporting military programs

    Summary pay range: $117,300 – $158,700
