    Are you a detail-driven Cost Accountant with construction industry experience?

     

    We’re looking for a motivated accounting professional to join a dynamic and growing construction company in South Houston. This is a great opportunity to have a direct impact on project performance, financial visibility, and operational success.

    Cost Accountant Responsibilities:

    + Track, analyze, and report on job costs for multiple construction projects

    + Partner with Project Managers to monitor budgets vs. actuals and identify cost variances

    + Prepare detailed project cost reports, WIP schedules, and forecasts

    + Reconcile costs across GL, sub-ledgers, and project systems

    + Assist with month-end close, cost allocations, and construction-specific accounting entries

    + Support change order reviews, subcontractor billings, and material cost tracking

    + Help improve cost processes, reporting accuracy, and financial insight

    Requirements

    Cost Accountant Requirements:

    3–5+ years of cost accounting experience in the construction industry

     

    Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field

     

    Proficiency with Sage 300

     

    Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)

     

    Detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

     

    Clear communication and a collaborative mindset
