Description We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Attorney to manage the full lifecycle of contracts within our organization. In this role, you will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing various types of agreements, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and is passionate about creating efficient legal structures and processes.

Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including consulting agreements, Statements of Work (SOWs), licensing agreements, commercial contracts, and grants.

• Manage the contract lifecycle, from initial intake to final execution and archiving.

• Assess and negotiate contracts prepared by third parties, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance requirements.

• Translate complex legal terms into clear, actionable language for non-legal stakeholders.

• Identify and address potential legal, business, and compliance risks in contract negotiations.

• Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate smooth contract workflows and resolve issues.

• Oversee the engagement of external counsel when necessary.

• Develop and maintain contract templates, workflows, and a comprehensive playbook.

• Provide practical legal insights and guidance on contracts and related matters to support organizational decision-making. Requirements • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in the California Bar.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience handling commercial contracts, with at least some experience in an in-house legal role.

• Strong expertise in contract law and the ability to work across various agreement types.

• Proficiency in contract management systems, such as Ironclad or similar tools.

• Exceptional skills in issue spotting, negotiation, and summarizing complex legal information for diverse audiences.

• Demonstrated ability to remain calm and reliable under pressure in fast-paced environments.

• Adaptability to shifting priorities while maintaining a high level of responsiveness.

• Commitment to mission-driven work and a pragmatic, resourceful approach to problem-solving.
