    Description

    Robert Half Finance & Accounting is working with a very well-established Vero Beach client looking for a skilled Payroll & Benefits Specialist. This position will be an integral part of the payroll operations process and employee benefits for multiple locations. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Please only local candidates will be considered as this requires fully onsite workday collaboration.

    Responsibilities:

    • Process bi-weekly payroll for employees across multiple locations, ensuring accuracy in hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses, and deductions.

    • Administer payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other withholdings while maintaining compliance with legal requirements.

    • Prepare and submit payroll-related general ledger entries, monthly accruals, and quarterly reports.

    • Audit and distribute year-end documents, including W-2s and 1095-C forms, ensuring compliance with reporting standards.

    • Manage contributions to employee benefit accounts such as 401(k) and Health Savings Accounts, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

    • Facilitate enrollments, changes, and terminations of health and welfare plans, coordinating with insurance providers for proper record-keeping.

    • Address employee inquiries and resolve payroll or benefits-related issues with a focus on excellent customer service.

    • Conduct audits of payroll and benefits programs, recommending improvements or corrective actions as necessary.

    • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including orientations, background checks, and termination procedures.

    • Manage payroll related journal entries and various account reconciliations to assist the HR Director with weekly/monthly reports.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in full-cycle payroll.

    • Experience with multi-state payroll for at least 100 employees.

    • Strong knowledge of compliance with federal and state regulations.

    • Experience in a high-volume, fast paced environment.

    • Excellent organizational and analytical skills as well as strong attention to detail.

    • Strong communication skills for addressing employee inquiries and collaborating with insurance providers.
