Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Trust and Estate Paralegal based in Oakland, California, United States. The primary function of this role is to provide legal services in the field of estate planning and trust administration.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate client communication and ensure their inquiries are resolved effectively.

• Draft, review, and assist in the preparation of legal documents related to estate planning and trust administration.

• Analyze financial records, discern trust and non-trust assets, and determine the title and character of assets.

• Handle probate court petitions and proceedings, such as Heggstad petitions.

• Assist with the process of trust funding and the preparation of documents to facilitate the same.

• Manage the recordation of deeds along with the transfer documents.

• Oversee the maintenance of client files and ensure materials are ready for client meetings.

• Take responsibility for the preparation and assembly of federal estate tax returns.

• Ensure critical deadlines and meetings are calendared effectively.

• Perform additional job duties as assigned, adhering to the rules and regulations of the corporate trust and estate law.

Requirements • Must hold a detail-oriented qualification in law with specialization in corporate trust.

• Proven experience in handling charitable remainder trusts is essential.

• Demonstrable skills in estate planning and estate law are mandatory.

• Proficiency in estate tax calculations and estate tax return filing is required.

• Experience in handling probate cases is a must.

• Familiarity with probate and estate administration is necessary.

• A thorough understanding of probate law is expected.

• Must hold a Notary Public certification or similar credentials.
