Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Entry-Level Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in New York, New York. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain experience across various accounting functions, including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel, and the ability to communicate effectively within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Process and manage payroll operations with precision and adherence to deadlines.

• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.

• Perform account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.

• Compile and analyze data to support financial reporting and organizational decision-making.

• Utilize Excel to organize and interpret financial information.

• Assist with data entry tasks, ensuring completeness and accuracy of records.

• Collaborate across departments to support various accounting processes.

• Contribute to the financial management of nonprofit organization activities.

• Identify discrepancies in financial records and resolve issues promptly.

• Maintain compliance with organizational policies and accounting standards. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field.

• Proficiency in payroll processes and systems.

• Strong knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

• Ability to perform accurate account reconciliations.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data management.

• Familiarity with nonprofit organizations is preferred.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
