Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our team. In this contract to hire position, you will play a vital role in managing client billing activities, ensuring accuracy in invoicing, and maintaining comprehensive records. This role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in accounting principles, and the ability to work independently while balancing multiple tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate monthly billing and invoicing tasks for assigned clients.

• Attend client meetings to address billing concerns and streamline processes.

• Analyze cost sheets, verify billing periods, and prepare accurate invoices.

• Maintain detailed billing records and provide backup documentation as required.

• Process invoices in compliance with tax guidelines and ensure proper classification of tax line items.

• Research and resolve discrepancies in costs and billing figures, preparing credits or rebills when necessary.

• Summarize billing data for ledger entries and calculate billing percentages.

• Prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively to meet deadlines.

• Communicate with account managers to deliver completed invoices and related materials.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in an accounting or billing environment.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including intermediate to advanced functions.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Solid understanding of math and accounting principles.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to independently research, analyze, and solve complex billing-related issues.

• Completion of at least two years of college or equivalent job-related experience.
