Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our dynamic team in San Diego, California. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in managing cost accounting processes, analyzing financial data, and driving strategic decision-making within a fast-paced biotech environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate across departments and contribute to operational efficiency and financial performance.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee cost accounting systems to ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and overhead allocations to provide actionable insights.

• Prepare detailed cost reports and support cost reduction initiatives.

• Supervise inventory valuation, reconciliations, and reporting processes for accuracy and compliance.

• Collaborate with operations teams to monitor inventory movements and calculate reserves for excess and obsolete inventory.

• Partner with supply chain, production, and R& D teams to optimize costing methodologies and validate project expenses.

• Assist in creating financial models for budgeting and forecasting production costs.

• Provide analytical support to identify cost trends and inform business planning.

• Ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory standards.

• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and detailed financial analyses. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting, ideally within manufacturing or biotech industries.

• Proficiency in standard cost accounting and cost analysis.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Experience with inventory valuation and reconciliations.

• Advanced knowledge of financial modeling and forecasting.

• Familiarity with compliance standards and audit processes.

• Excellent communication and ability to collaborate across departments.
