Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead and oversee the accounting and financial operations within our organization. Based in Burbank, California, this role requires a strong leader who can manage and mentor a team while ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies. The ideal candidate will excel at analyzing business performance, driving process improvements, and collaborating across departments to achieve organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely completion of end-of-period processes and performance analyses.

• Develop and enforce risk management procedures while continuously updating them to align with business needs.

• Build and mentor talent within the accounting team, fostering growth and readiness for future leadership roles.

• Ensure consistency in financial policies and procedures across the department to support overall company objectives.

• Collaborate with departmental leaders to guide financial activities and interpret the implications of financial outcomes.

• Work closely with external partners, including auditors, tax experts, and financial institutions, to address auditing and taxation matters.

• Lead documentation efforts for all financial records and prepare detailed reports on revenue processes and accounting matters.

• Conduct financial analyses, prepare annual budgets, and oversee quarterly and annual audits to improve overall financial performance.

• Implement and oversee systems improvements within the finance department, ensuring compliance with state tax requirements and accepted accounting principles.

• Drive projects related to the implementation of new financial tools and systems, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Requirements • Extensive experience in financial management and accounting leadership roles.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

• Strong knowledge of retail wholesale, inventory reconciliation, and direct-to-consumer (DTC) operations.

• Expertise in sales tax, cost of goods sold (COGS), and budgeting processes.

• Proven ability to mentor and develop accounting personnel.

• Experience with financial reporting and compliance with state tax regulations.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments and with external partners.

• Demonstrated ability to recommend and implement process improvements that enhance financial performance.
