    GA Family Services - Therapeutic Foster Care Clinician

     

    Reports To: Clinical Supervisor

    Position Status: Full-Time (40-hours per week)

    Salary Range: $26 to $34.94 per hour

    Position Schedule: Schedule may vary based on appointment times and youth needs, typically:

    + Monday: 8:30am – 5:00pm

    + Tuesday & Wednesday: 11:00am – 7:00pm

    + Thursday: 10:30am – 7:00pm

    + Friday: 8:30am – 5:00pm

    + Saturday: Occasionally

     

    Purpose: We are seeking a Licensed Clinical Therapist (LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC required) to work as a part of our treatment team, providing services to youth who have been victims of abuse. This individual will complete evaluations, provide consultation, maintain a caseload of individual and group therapy clients, and support youth and families in crisis situations.

    Qualifications:

    + Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, or a related field

    + Active license to practice in New York State (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, etc.)

    + Valid NYS Driver’s License

    + Experience with youth and adolescents in therapeutic settings preferred

    + Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills

    Job Duties:

    + Conduct evaluations and participate in treatment planning for foster youth who are victims of abuse

    + Provide weekly group therapy for teens and individual therapy tailored to client needs

    + Offer trauma-informed care, substance abuse counseling, family therapy, and transitional support

    + Maintain timely and thorough documentation (assessments, treatment plans, progress summaries)

    + Provide psycho-education and wellness support

    + Liaise with in-house teams to ensure coordinated care

    + Promote behavioral health goals and support pro-social skill development

    + Safety – Follows required safety procedures.

    + In-services – Attends all required in-service training.

    GAFS Organizational Responsibilities:

    + Actively participates as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team for assigned youth and to assist in coordinating and monitoring services that are tailored to the needs of the youth.

    + Engages in regular supervision with own supervisor, including scheduled evaluations.

    + Actively participates in all in-service programs and scheduled meetings

    + Maintains ongoing and open communication with team members and promotes relationships of trust and respect with clients, families, customers, and staff.

    + Responsible for emergency on-call coverage, as scheduled

    + Fulfills obligations inherent in the major system of the GACFS and the LSS Personnel policies.

    + Demonstrates a commitment to organizational and department goals.

    + Shares positive and negative information directly with team members and confronts others; to utilize the organizational chain of command.

    + Practices good listening skills and communicates well both in writing and verbally.

    + Demonstrates personal and professional ethics, attitudes and value systems which enhance team functioning and to be abide by the Standards of Confidentiality.

    + Upholds child and family rights as outlined in State Office of Child and Family Services mandates and GACFS procedures.
