Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Manager to lead our accounts payable (AP) team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the full-cycle accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to streamline processes, and a commitment to fostering a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Leadership and Team Management:
+ Manage, mentor, and develop the accounts payable team to ensure their growth and performance align with department goals.
+ Establish clear objectives, provide feedback, and foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
+ Coordinate workload distribution and ensure timely completion of all AP-related tasks.
+ Accounts Payable Operations:
+ Oversee all accounts payable activities, including invoice processing, vendor payments, expense reimbursements, and account reconciliations.
+ Ensure invoices are verified, coded, and approved accurately and in a timely manner.
+ Maintain accurate AP records, monitor aging reports, and resolve payment discrepancies.
+ Process Improvement and Efficiency:
+ Identify opportunities to automate and streamline the accounts payable process to enhance efficiency and reduce processing time.
+ Develop and implement best practices and process improvement initiatives.
+ Collaborate with the accounting team to integrate AP systems with general ledger software and other financial platforms.
+ Compliance and Reporting:
+ Ensure adherence to company policies, internal controls, and financial regulations, including tax laws related to vendor payments (e.g., 1099 filings).
+ Prepare and analyze AP-related reports and metrics for management review.
+ Ensure smooth support for internal and external audits by providing documentation and resolving queries.
+ Vendor Relationship Management:
+ Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers.
+ Resolve vendor disputes, negotiate payment terms, and handle escalations professionally.
+ Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
+ Collaborate with procurement, finance, and operations teams to align on payment schedules, cash flow planning, and vendor agreements.
+ Communicate effectively with various stakeholders to ensure seamless workflows.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
+ Experience in a leadership capacity.
+ Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and best practices.
+ Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
+ Advanced Excel skills and experience working with data analytics tools.
+ Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
+ High attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
