• Staff Accountant

    Robert Half Finance & Accounting (Vienna, VA)

    Position Summary:

    As a Staff Accountant, you’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the month-end close process, reconciling accounts, and assisting in financial reporting.     + Handle full-cycle accounts payable, including vendor setup, invoice processing, payment runs, and maintaining accurate records

    + Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing clients, monitoring aging reports, and following up on outstanding balances

    + Process journal entries and monthly accruals

    + Reconcile bank, credit card, and general ledger accounts

    + Support monthly and year-end close processes

    + Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and record depreciation

    + Prepare internal financial reports and assist with budget tracking

    + Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards

    + Use QuickBooks for transaction processing, reporting, and financial management

    + Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate client billing and cost tracking

    + Assist with annual audit support and ad hoc finance projects

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business

    + 1–3 years of accounting experience, ideally in a professional services firm (consulting, legal, creative, etc.)

    + Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel

    + Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP

    + Excellent attention to detail and time management skills

    + Strong interpersonal and communication skills

    + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
