We are seeking Engineering Managers to join our Enterprise engineering pillar, focused on scaling product experiences for our biggest customers. We currently have openings on:

+ The Scaled Experiences Team (SF): The Scaled Experiences team focuses holistically on the customer problem of using Airtable at scale. This includes owning Airtable’s high-scale storage and processing system, HyperDB, as well as user-facing scale-related experiences such as large view interactions, search, charting, and bulk actions on large volumes of data.

+ The Large Deployments Team (SF): The Large Deployments team is responsible for building the advanced product features that enable enterprise-wide adoption to support our most complex customer use cases. This team drives innovation and builds features in areas like cross-org orchestration, AI applications in strategic portfolio management, and administrative control surfaces. They also own and drive key compliance and governance infrastructure, such as Data Loss Prevention and Enterprise Key Management, ensuring our customers can meet their regulatory needs.

Please note: while we employ a hybrid working model at Airtable (flexible in working from the office or elsewhere), we are looking to hire candidates at this level that are based in San Francisco who are open to coming into the office at least ~2-3 times/week for team collaboration.

What you'll do

+ Lead, manage, and grow a team of high-functioning engineers that are in charge of our systems and frameworks.

+ Partner with engineering leaders to drive technical decisions and initiatives to build products in a high-quality and sustainable way.

+ Nurture a team of passionate and capable engineers. Partner with senior engineers to multiply their impact, and coach & grow early-career engineers.

+ Partner with cross-functional peers including product and design to come up with and execute against short and long term strategy and plans for the team.

+ Implement processes to help the team scale and be productive, while allowing for agility to accommodate the dynamic environment that we operate in.

Who you are

+ 5+ years experience as an engineer (previously in a staff or TL level IC position) and 2+ years as a manager, or a similar combination.

+ Strong customer focus and experience working closely with Product Managers to define products, manage tradeoffs, and drive adoption with customers.

+ Experience with navigating large systems.

+ Experience leading high performing engineering teams in a fast paced environment

+ Experience in growing and mentoring engineers.

+ Experience in managing, organizing, and prioritizing multiple projects and work streams.

Compensation awarded to successful candidates will vary based on their work location, relevant skills, and experience.

For work locations in the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, New York City, and Los Angeles, the base salary range for this role is:

$240,000 — $339,900 USD
