Rehabilitation Assistant - Part Time 20 hours!!!

Part time 20 hour Rehabilitation Assistant wanted for our Danbury Hospital Outpatient Rehabilitation Center. Southbury-22 Old Waterbury Rd

This position provides assistance and support for room preparation, wheelchair follow for complicated neurological patients to provide support and safety during patient. As Rehab Assistant, you will also help to monitor supply needs and organize the supplies of the clinic. Pay is based on full years of relevant healthcare experience and starts at $17/hour plus shift differntials when applicable.

Summary

To assist clinical staff with patient related activities to provide efficient services to the patient and to optimize productivity.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintains multiple treatment areas/rooms.

2. Sets up and applies all modalities including patient positioning for therapy.

3. Assists with transfers and gait training.

4. May assist with selected procedures in wound care; utilizes sterile techniques, prepares and cleans equipment. Assists with medical waste disposal per department policy.

5. Measures and reports vital signs of patient to therapist.

6. Meets and greets patients/family members.

7. Stocks and orders supplies.

8. Keeps equipment organized and clean & ensures current inspection duties.

9. Assists with distribution of patient satisfaction surveys. May assist with scheduling and clerical duties as needed.

10. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Other Information:

Required:

Minimum Experience: zero to six months

Desired: CPR certification preferred. Bilingual preferred.

Working Conditions:

Manual: Some manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

Occupational: Some occupational risk

Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort. May exert up to 35 lbs. force

Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
